The intro to Lay Your Money Down by The Exies plays as the crowd begins to stand up and spotlights begin hovering left to right on the stage. As the lyrics start Eric stands at the entrance with his arms raised with a peace sign on each hand and a smirk on his face. Fireworks go off from left to right on each side of him making a full round back and forth and ending facing each other
Webber: It’s time for our main event! This will be a rematch from the finals of last month’s Ernie Hamilton Cup, as well as American Freebear’s first title defense. A lot on the line in this one.
Salazar: Thankfully, we won’t have to see that big oaf parading around with the title belt any longer. I’m not the biggest Herrera fan, but even he’s better than that fluke of a champion.
Eric begins walking down the ramp shaking hands with fans along the way.
Webber: American Freebear beat four men and came back from a KGB beating to win the tournament. He is not a fluke. But the finals really went down to the wire, so this one could go either way. Freebear needs to win this not just to retain his title, but cement his position as the best in the Mid-South.
Salazar: Eric Hererra is a veteran of this business and has held titles in numerous federations. He uses a fast-paced style that mixes high flying and technical wrestling, which few can keep up with.
Eric is at the ring steps and begins posing at the turnbuckles.
The music fades after the last Come lay your money down verse. Eric sits on the turnbuckle waiting for the Freebear. Referee Mike Rakes and Chester stand in the ring. A moment passes as the crowd buzzes..[/I]
Webber: The fans here in Tulsa can’t wait to see the one and only bear that can fly.
*LOUD* bear roar rings throughout the arena as the opening chords of Lynard Skynard's classic "Freebird" plays through the loudspeakers. A big tall man makes himself known to the crowd, crouching low near the entrance ramp with both fists touching the ground; before rising up to his full height shouting a thunderous bellow! The crowd responds in kind, their cheers almost deafening. The SWAT Mid-South Heavyweight Title belt is in his hands, and when he raises it there’s another huge pop.
Webber: They love him! American Freebear, living every cubicle drone’s dream right here in SWAT.
Salazar: Bah! They only like him because he’s makes them look thin in comparison.
Webber: Frank! These people pay your bills!
The American Freebear marches towards the ring, bringing up his huge hand as he walks or slapping a few fan's hands as he passes them by. STOMPS up the ring steps before removing his jeweled jacket and promises to the crowd that tonight... they shall see the Freebear fly!
Chester steps forward to do the introductions.
Chester: Ladies and gentlemen, it is time for your MAIN EVENT OF THE EVENING!
[Pop!]
Chester: The following match is scheduled for one fall and is for the SWAT Mid-South Heavyweight Championship! Introducing first, standing to my right, the challenger. From El Centro, California, weighing in at 225 pounds... “EXTREME REDEFINED” ERIC HERRERA!
[Mixed pop for the challenger.]
Chester: And introducing his opponent... from Jacksonville, Florida, weighing in at 328 pounds... he is known as the Flyin’ Ursine, the reigning, defending SWAT Mid-South Heavyweight Champion, the one of a kind AMERICAN FREEBEAR!
[The arena rumbles with the fans’ cheers.]
Webber: I can barely hear myself think in here.Chester rolls out of the ring, and the bell rings. The two wrestlers circle warily, and then lock up. Eric Herrera slips around and applies a side headlock to the American Freebear. Freebear responds by scooping up Herrera and military pressing him over his head.
Frank: Huge show of power by the champion.Herrera rolls off of Freebear’s shoulders and quickly gets to his feet, looking at his opponent warily. A “FREE-BEAR” chant starts up in the crowd. The two circle again, and Freebear goes to lock up, but Eric ducks out of the way and kicks the inside of Freebear’s leg. Herrera ducks and weaves, continuing to tattoo Freebear’s legs with his kicks.
Webber: Eric Herrera knows that he’s got to stick and move if he wants to win. He can’t go toe to toe with Freebear, so he’s working with those MMA-style inside leg kicks.
Salazar: They don’t seem to be having much effect.
Webber: Not at the moment, but these things really add up over time.[Freebear surges forward and clips Herrera on the jaw. The challenger stumbles, and Freebear fires another right hand. This one hits home, and leaves Herrera open to a thunderous shoulderblock that knocks him down to the mat. Freebear drops a leg onto Herrera and then applies a claw to his head.
Salazar: The claw! Freebear busting out an old-school hold. That looks like something I would put on my little brother.
Webber: Don’t disrespect the claw, Frank.Eric Herrera winces, but reaches out and grabs the bottom rope. Freebear breaks the hold as instructed, and cartwheels back to his feet. The crowd applauds.
Frank: Showoff.
[Herrera leans back and then kips up, elicting almost as big a round of applause. Freebear smiles and then rushes in with a clothesline, but Eric leapfrogs over him and catches a rebounding Freebear with a dropkick. The big man stumbles but doesn’t fall. Herrera runs off the ropes and goes for another dropkick, but Freebear catches him in midair with a big right. Punch-drunk, Herrera stumbles into a Samoan drop. Freebear hooks the leg.]
Ref. Mike Rakes:
1...
2-kickout!
Webber: It’s going to take more than that to keep Eric Herrera down.
[Freebear drags his opponent over to the nearest corner. He backs up to the middle of the ring and rushes Herrera, going for a leg lariat... but Herrera moves out of the way, and Freebear’s leg hits the post!]
Frank: Ouch! Eric Herrera was able to get out of the way in time, and now he has a big opportunity.
Webber: We’re seeing the experience factor come into play here. These men wrestled each other just recently, so they’re going to know each others’ moves, as Eric Herrera just put to use.
[As Freebear comes out of the corner Herrera chop blocks him in the damaged knee. Freebear tumbles back across the back of his challenger, and Herrera bridges back for a pinfall.]
Ref. Mike Rakes:
1... kickout!
Webber: The American Freebear kicks out, but he’s still in danger from Eric Herrera right now.
Frank: This is smart strategy from Herrera. If you take out the legs of the American Freebear, you take out his high-flying moves and his ability to use his size advantage. Everyone’s the same size on the mat.
[Eric Herrera drops a leg onto the knee. He wraps his leg around it and sits down, twisting it and slamming it into the mat. Freebear cries out in pain as Herrera puts on a figure four leglock. The audience “WOOOOOO!”s instinctively.]
Webber: Figure four applied! You know that the Freebear has to be in a lot of pain right now.
Frank: Come on, give it up right here!
[American Freebear scrunches his face up in pain. He drops onto his back, but manages to sit back up before the ref is even able to count one. Herrera rocks back on the hold, staring Freebear in the eye. Desperate, Freebear rears back and punches his opponent in the jaw. A second right stuns Eric, allowing Freebear to squeeze out of the hold.]
Webber: Freebear using his heavy hands to get out of that hold. Smart thinking there.
Frank: Probably the first time any one has said that about him.
[Freebear limps to his feet, but Eric Herrera comes up from behind him and dropkicks him in the bad knee. Freebear goes down like an oak tree! Sensing opportunity, Herrera climbs to the top rope. The flashbulbs go off as he leaps off and connects with an elbow drop to the heart of the American Freebear!]
Webber: Top-rope elbow drop! And the cover.
Ref. Mike Rakes:
1...
2...
[Freebear kicks out! Herrera picks up his opponent and drives his leg back into the mat with a dragonscrew legwhip. He connects with a running facebuster on Freebear. Eric Herrera goes to the turnbuckle and climbs to the top rope again. This time, he faces the audience...]
Webber: Herrera with a moonsault! NO! Caught by the Freebear, and a big bodyslam!
[The fans are raucous as both men lay prone on the mat. Mike Rakes starts the ten count. He gets up to 7 before both men get to shaky feet, Freebear using the ropes to pull himself up. Eric Herrera comes in , gong for a brainbuster, but Freebear shoves him off. The champion rushes forward and knocks down Herrera with a running clothesline. He stops to clutch his injured leg as Eric gets back up. Freebear greets him with a big flying back elbow!]
Webber: American Freebear making a comeback here. He could still pull this one out.
Frank: Bah. We’ll see how far an one-legged bear can go.
[Freebear does a forward roll over the prone Herrera, and hooks the leg.]
Webber: The Tumbling Bear, and then the cover!
Ref. Mike Rakes:
1...
2-kickout!
[The American Freebear drags Herrera into a very apropos bearhug. He then lifts his opponent up and slams him down to the mat with the Bearhug Bomb, sitting down to make the cover.]
Webber: Bearhug Bomb! This could be it!
Ref: Mike Rakes:
1...
2...
3-no!
Webber: Eric Herrera kicks out at the last second.
Frank: “Extreme Redefined” is in big trouble here.
[Herrera rolls to the outside to take a powder. Freebear’s eyes light up as he steps out to the apron. The crowd cheers in anticipation.]
Webber: That might not have been such a good idea!
[Freebear rushes Herrera, going for a running tope. But at the last second, his bad leg gives out from under him and he stumbles, falling off the apron and face-first to the floor. The audience deflates.]
Frank: Ha ha!
Webber: All that earlier work on the leg just saved Eric Herrera from a 328-pound missile.
Frank: When I go home, I’m going to look that clip up on Youtube and watch it over and over again.
[Eric Herrera grabs the prone and hurting Freebear and hauls him up up to his feet. He then whips his opponent into the steel stairs, which clang and shift away as the big man collides into them.]
Webber: Those must have moved three feet! And Eric Herrera’s not done yet.
[Herrera moves Freebear over and slams his head against the stairs. He then removes the top step and wedges Freebear’s head in between it and the rest of the stairs. Herrera quickly climbs up to the apron and leaps off, leg dropping the step into the neck of the American Freebear!]
Webber: Good God almighty! He might have just broken Freebear’s neck there!
Frank: I love it! Hopefully this fattie will be out for good.
[Herrera, showing some signs of fatigue but still moving quickly, grabs Freebear and rolls him into the ring. He scrambles to the cover.]
Ref. Mike Rakes:
1...
2...
3-foot on the ropes!
Frank: Come on, that was three!
Webber: Two and nine-tenths seconds! It doesn’t get much closer than that, folks. American Freebear is being taken to new limits in his first title defense.
[Herrera goes up top and comes down on Freebear with a moonsault.]
Ref. Mike Rakes:
1...
2...
Kickout!
Webber: What does Eric Herrera have to do to put the champion away?
[Frustrated, Herrera rolls Freebear over and locks his legs before practically sitting down on his back.]
Webber: Sharpshooter! Herrera has made many men tap out with the sharpshooter before, and with Freebear’s legs worn down he’s easy prey for the hold.
[The American Freebear cries out in pain as Herrera rocks back in pain on his signature submission. He reaches out for the ropes, but they’re far away. The crowd starts to chant “FREEBEAR”, willing their hero on.]
Frank: Tap, damn you! Tap!
[But Freebear loudly yells “NO!” to Mike Rakes. Instead, he digs in deep and begins slowly muscling his way to that bottom rope. Herrara grits his teeth and wrenches back, but the champion still won’t give up. Freebear struggles forward, and after a few good minutes in the hold grasps the ropes! HUGE POP!]
Webber: American Freebear just barely able to make it to the ropes! I tell you, another minute and that might have been it.
Frank: “Might haves” don’t get you the Mid-South title though.
Webber: Freebear barely able to stand... oh, and look who’s crashing the party!
[Kross has made his way down to ringside, and is intently watching the match. He and Freebear glare at each other.]
Frank: Kross just wants a front-row seat to the main event.
Webber: Yeah, pull the other one. It’s no surprise Freebear has his eyes on Kross, after the diatribe he went into earlier tonight. But he should have been keeping his eyes on his opponent! Eric Herrera from behind with the schoolboy roll-up!
Ref. Mike Rakes:
1...
2...
Webber: Freebear reverses it into the Rolling Bear Clutch! That’s the move he won the title with!
Ref. Mike Rakes:
1...
2...
3-Herrera kicks out!
Frank: See, sometimes people learn from their mistakes.
[Kross steps up onto the apron. Freebear sees him and charges in for a clothesline. But Mike Rakes steps in to admonish Kross at the same time, and ends up being bowled over by the bear’s arm!]
Webber: Referee down! Freebear was going to try and take out Kross, but he hit the ref instead.
Frank: Something tells me shenanigans are about to ensue.
[As Freebear stares down at the prone referee, Eric Herrera comes up behind him and drills him into the mat with an inverted DDT. He climbs up to the top rope again.]
Webber: What’s Herrera going for—NO!
[Cameras flash as Herrera dives off into a shooting star press on the American Freebear! He instinctively hooks the leg.]
Webber: Herrera with a beautiful shooting star press! He has this match won, but there’s no one to count the pin. Herrera rolls off Freebear, he may have hurt himself on impact. Freebear rolls slowly over onto Eric...
Frank: There’s someone alright!
[Referee Mike Micheals slides into the ring and makes the count!]

Chester: Fans, the referee has informed me that the pin on Eric Herrera by The American Freebear....
Chester looks at both refs..
Frank: Well? Spit it out man!!
Chester: .............is LEGAL!! Your winner and STILL SWAT Mid South Heavyweight Champion...The American Freebear!!

Webber: It’s time for our main event! This will be a rematch from the finals of last month’s Ernie Hamilton Cup, as well as American Freebear’s first title defense. A lot on the line in this one.
